Angry I'm such a moron...

:b ang:

I installed my hurst shifter that i bought from 2005 Silverado today. Driving to CVS, i smell burning trans fluid. I stop, and im leaking EVERYWHERE. Call my friend who helped and he asks "did you pinch the gasket?"

"**** NO. I DIDN'T PUT THE DAMN THING ON"

I'm sitting there lookin at it wondering what the hell i'm doing with spare parts. Well that explains it doesn't it? So now tomorrow I get to pull it all back apart and fill up my trans again. YAY ME!

end rant

We've all done mistakes like that. Lesson learned.

Usually when I leave a part out it is one that requires me to pull the entire drivetrain to put it where it should have been. Or it is a part that I have no idea where it came from and there is never a problem without it.

Well. drove around again, still leaking slightly it appears. So tomorrow it's coming off AGAIN and I'm laying down some gasket maker I suppose, unless someone jumps in with the "don't do that" remark. lol
