I've broken one, or found it broke when I bough tmy truck. Supposibly the 99-2000 adaptors are steel, but I never investigated it any further. Also make sure the u-joints adnd mounts are in good shape, plus see if you have a set of wheels way out on balance.

I'm trying to think back to the end of May when I swapped my trans (seems like a millennium ago lol)...my t-case adapter was aluminum or magnesium or whatever, but not steel...from what I remember (a lot has happened the past few months so my mind has been a little over worked lol)

Is the trans stock/original? Any abnormal noises, like a bad bearing noise or anything? Autotrak or manual T-case? I wonder if something binding in the T-case could stress the adapter?
