Default How much is my rearend worth?

Im looking into upgrading to the 9.5" rear end. How much would you say my 10 bolt is worth. 4.10 OE AAM gears, trutrac, brand new rotors and pads.

While its hard to give an exact price, I would say its probably worth more parted out then as a whole.

Its only worth what someone is willing to pay. Usually a factroy 4.10 setup goes for 300 - 500 depending on milage, shape, and how complete.

If you can buy new gears and an install kit with locker for around $700 and install in your housing, most people wont pay more than that for a slightly used set up even if it is complete with new brakes.

But you break it down and 1 guy wants the gears and locker and someone else will want the brake conversion and possibly someone looking to build or replace a bent housing will pick up whats left.

Just my opinion on the subject...

Thanks for your input. I feel its worth 500 but I know that modded stuff doesnt usually being anywhere near its cost.

Im changing my rear suspension a bit and going to drum brakes to fit 15s that I can street drive. Given the drum brake swap I might as well upgrade the axle for piece of mind since I already have a nearly fully built 4l80. Theres a local lot with a couple AXN rear axles.

Wow, a lot that has more than 1.

I hope they want a reasonable price for it.

Its a lot that specializes in GM trucks only. Most of them I see on carpart are $900-1000. The specific one im looking at is 3.73 gear with a G80.

seems like a waste of money to me. the 8.5 will hold fine in your truck. i would spend more time and money figuring out a way to get your current power to the ground. s10 calipers will fit a 15" wheel. or a drum brake conversion that is made for your rear end. i doubt a junk yard would charge much for the drum components from a newer rear.
