started takling the tranny out today on the truck, got all the little things off, just need to take out the tranny bolts and that little black springy line thing. i dont know how to unhook that little black spring thing. how do i take it off? and also how many tranny bolts are there? so i can make sure that i dont miss one

 

follow the bellhousing all the way around the top from oil pan to oil pan again

make sure you get the bolt all the way at the top middle

easy way to tell if you got them all is if the trans comes off you shouldnet have to tug very hard at all

 

Aren't there 8 - 9 trans-to-engine bolts? One of those is different b/c there's a stud that allows a nut to hold the trans dipstick.

 

Mine was a bastard to get loose from the engine after all the bolts were out. The pins had enough surface rust on them to cause problems. My truck has almost 100k miles though. I don't remember how many bolts there are I'm thinking 7-9. For the black springy thing if your talking about the shift linkage there is a u-clip in the platic wings on it to keep it in place.

I pulled my trans last night and put some 44#Injectors in after i was through..

 

Why are you guys leaving the top ones out???/ take the intake off and they go in like nothing..
