The bearing in my front diff is going out. I have replaced the seal twice now and withen two weeks it's leaking again. It is the drivers side stub shaft bearing. I wanted to change it when I had the diff out, but I was told they never go out.
Can the bearing be changed without splitting the case, or is it a major job? Does the bearing come out twards the seal, or from the inside? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks, J

Looking at the exploded view. There is a bearing on the outside of the case and comes out that way. Looks like you would have to split the case to get the axle out though.
Edit: Just realized you would have had to get the axle out to change the seal. The bearing should be behind it.
