How bad will 4.10s hurt my top end?

This one I left in 2nd and let it hit the rev limiter at 6500 and then shifted so you could get the idea... I think it got to about 82-83 mph at 6500 rpm
50-85 2nd gear pull - YouTube

Just left it in drive 60 punch shifts about 6100-6200

60-80 left in drive - YouTube

70-100 3rd gear pull... I dont like to go to a 100 cause i need a balanced shaft. I cringe everytime I get over 90 bad vibes

Man you are the guy I was hoping that would post up! Your setup almost mirrors what I want to do.

For some perspective... My experience

I previously ran 8.91 @ 82-83 with 3.42 gears

Dropped to 8.75 @ 79-80 with a 4.10 swap

Granted I ended up going 8.52 @ 80 and dropped my 60' by a solid .2 - .25 seconds I cant make that MPH up for nothing. Was cutting 2.0 - 2.20 60' and have managed a 1.82 60' with the 4.10

My truck used to pull HARD up top, After 50 it felt STRONG with the 3.42. At the track I could get jumped out the hole a full truck by a slightly modded L and reel him in and pass him by one in the 1/8th. After the swap to 4.10 and losing that up top pull....Its not even close. needless to say...because I dont race my truck daily at the track and I do Roll alot and daily drive it...I think im going back to a more top oriented gear. Thinking 3.73 to even it out

With 3.42 and 33" tires was getting 160 in second, now with 4.10s getting 135, on the highway at 100 rpm is at 1900

I hear what you are saying. I went from 3.08's to 4.10's and lost some substantial 1/4 mile mph 3-4mph IIRC. Was a beast out of the hole, but it didnt feel as good on the highway during rollons.
Went from a 2.3-4 down to 2.0's.

I did a pull to 4200rpm in OD which was about 122mph wit the TCC locked. It would have been 6000rpm in 3rd, but the PCM wont pull over 5800-5900.

For roll on racing you have to balance gear, engine power with aerodynamics. Also be sure the TCC isnt locking at WOT which every GMT400/800 truck does at WOT between 75-82mph. My truck used to WOT shift 2-3 then the TCC would lock right away, this killed 3rd gear performance. I think GM did this to keep the trans temps down.

Ive had 3.08, 3.42, 3.73 and 4.10's and in my truck the 3.42's did best during 2nd gear rollons. My Gen 1E 350 is different than the GEN 3's performance. The 5.3's should be able to pull 3.73-4.10's better during rollons.

Yeah ive concluded if you dont have the rpm and hp to pull the 4.10s arent good for high speed racing. I drove a truck with 3.73s and it just didnt have the ***** up top like my 3.42s do...
