25 and 55-60 rolls will be beast mode. You are gonna pull out with your 2nd gear, and when you shift to 3rd you will probably have gotten all you will get until 100 when they have to hit 3rd and you are right in the sweet spot of your 3rd gear. That = awesome

After my gears my truck felt all around faster. I'm one of the biggest advocates of gears you will ever meet. I put gears in my truck before window tint. I say go for the gears. It's a very worthwhile mod from a performance standpoint. If you start losing races just tell people to go from a 25 or from a dead stop
True stuff here.
I think it would really help my daily driving and add a few city mpgs. I could live with going down a few mph to do my rolls also.

Ah! I've been looking for a post like this!

Okay so i have a 32.8 inch tall tire with 3.42's with a 4l60
Now i am going to go 4l80e which has a lower(numerical) 1st gear, What gears would be best for this sort of set up? I will hopefully be going turbo some time in 2012

Lol i've always liked the sound of 4.10s thanks guys

With a 32.8" tire you might want 3.90 or 3.73.
Or try the 3.42s first and go from there.

Id keep the 3.42s with a turbo setup. It will help load the turbo much better and supply better traction on the streets.

Ok just some crappy iPhone vids I did today just to give ya an idea. The damn sun was in the way so the videos ended up crappy. Lol, It looks so much slower when I video it, even though it's not fast to begin with!! I have 4:10 275/60/17 on stocks.

This one I left in 2nd and let it hit the rev limiter at 6500 and then shifted so you could get the idea... I think it got to about 82-83 mph at 6500 rpm
50-85 2nd gear pull - YouTube

Just left it in drive 60 punch shifts about 6100-6200

60-80 left in drive - YouTube

70-100 3rd gear pull... I dont like to go to a 100 cause i need a balanced shaft. I cringe everytime I get over 90 bad vibes

70-100 - YouTube
