Isn't it weird how these things always seem to happen at times like these...

 

i did find an exhaust rattle...heat shield way back by the spare tire carrier. piece of split heater hose fixed that right up.

 

My exhaust heat shield is rattling as well....the one up by the y pipe....that's what open exhaust will do though. lol.

 

cut some pieces of heater hose or fuel hose and sandwich it up there....fixes that ****!

 

even better....i can swap it out without removing the trans all the way.

 

managed to get my hands on one of the newest revision flexplates. install on saturday...with pictures of course. got lucky with the part too... seems GM is only shipping these on a per claim basis...basically warranty parts only. there just happened to be one at a local dealer... aparently there were only 10 in all of the region.

 

I always assumed that "flexplate" was a slang term, making fun of them because they are so thin.
So they are actually designed to flex? Why?

 

Im running a flexplate from CAT industries, SFI approved to 11k rpm and less than half the cost of ATI or other name brands....
