Default Help me with adjustable shocks, trac bars, on my lowered truck

I have never been able to get traction with my set up since building the 408. As it sits right now, the truck has a belltech 3/5 drop with hangers, shackles, and drop springs up front. I think it has nitro shocks or whatever comes in the belltech kit. The rear end has 3.42's and I'm going to put gears back in my truck very soon. I want to be able to launch the truck at the track without pedaling it.

Looks like everyone likes Smith's assassin bars so I will be adding those for sure. I need help finding a good set of adjustable shocks. What else can be done to a leaf spring set up to maximize traction? Thanks guys!

Relocate the rear shocks both to rear off axle standing close to straight up. (I did mine 10* leaned back) use either rancho rs9000xl pt# 999119 or 999123 or Calvert shocks. Have the shocks at full stiff setting at the track and adjust to comfort on street

So only the rear shocks need to be replaced?

Get the assasin bars and do a axle flip. The axle flip will help with your instant center. Also what pinion angle are you running now? What is your track tire?

Track tire is a Mickey Thompson dot radial. Can't remember the exact size but they are mounted on 16's and 28" tall. Not sure what the pinion angle is at right now.

What do you mean by axle flip? Flip kit or do you mean just move the shocks behind the rear end?

Sounds like Calvert bought rancho a while ago. So should I put the 90/10 shocks up front and the 9 way adj shocks out back?

Yes flip kit is a good upgrade and 90/10 shocks up front is also a big +

Why are hangers bad for traction?

I believe I still have my stock ones in the garage so I can throw those back on and do the flip. I already have the shackles and c-notches in.

Stock hangers, stock shackles, stock wore out 130,000 mile shocks or ranchos, remove middle leaf, smith bars or caltracs, stock front coil springs with stock wore out 130,000 mile shocks, heated coils to achieve desired drop...will go 1.4x or quicker with a little work

Don't you want a stiff shock in the rear? Why do the worn out ones work?
