Been out of the game for awhile...last I remember (4 years ago) there was a company working on a standalone controller for the 6L80E. Did anything ever come of that, and has anyone figured out how to run a 6 spd trans in a GMT800?

I don't think it would be worth the expense. It took me over 2 weeks working every day to do the research and actual wiring to get the truck running on a GMLAN system...it just isn't cost effective. Like many of my experimental projects lol.
It would be simpler, however, to have a standalone passthrough controller for the 6L80e internal transmission computer yet have the truck still operate on a class 2 data bus. But nobody currently offers anything like that as far as I know.

Hey, it might not be cost effective but it's got the cool factor...
Besides, it's more about the journey then the destination with this hobby!

It's called a TCM-2650 Mechatronic made by Powertrain Control Solutions. I have talked to them about it and guys have done the swap in gmt800 trucks. It will be standalone and that includes if you want tap shift and a shift indicator of some kind. I might do a 6L90e on my 04 when I blow the 4L80e apart... but we shall see.
