harsh shifts
#1
I have a rebuilt trans with a few upgrades like beast sunshell, vette servo and a few others. I got a 02 pcm upgrade and fan harness from nelson a few weeks ago and im not sure if its just a coincidence or not but the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are very harsh. Like if its raining and im barely on the gas it will bark 2nd. It will also bark 2nd at wot on dry pavement. Is this a tuning problem or trans problem? It drives fine except for it shifting hard as hell. I would think its a tuning problem but I figured id get some more opinions. Iv got 33's with 18" rims and I know this cant be good at all for the trans. Its too bad its not the hp thats causing this lol.

The servos will make it shift harder as will the shift kit. If your tuner didn't lower your line pressure then it will shift real harsh. Also if your speedo isn't calibrated right it will make the trans shift wierd...may be time to invest in some tuning/logging software.

yeh im gettin hp tuners for christmas but i had the vette servo before, it just started this with the 02 pcm upgrade. i dont have the shift kit installed yet. it shifted fine before i got the 02 upgrade so im not sure if its my trans or in the tune.

ask Allen specifically, I may be wrong, but when I went from 2000 to 2002 my shifts got harder and looking at the pressure tables, the 2002 seems a touch higher(5.3 w/60e). I'd cough this one up to a tuning tweak. No biggy but get on it soon.

yeh thats what i figured, im not gona deal with swapping pcms again with the fan harness and all connected. I know it cant be good though but its pretty cool it barks 2nd lol. il just wait till i get hp tuners. if i time it right and let off the gas its shifts fine.
