Default Had a slip today

Tranny slipped bad on a 2-3 shift this morning. Probably my fault, I hadn't let the truck get good and warm. Pulling out into traffic and had to scoot. Just happens I had the video camera in the truck, and on for the first time getting some footage. I have it on tape.

Truck went into limp mode afterward? Guessing this since the AF gauge stayed pegged rich for the duration to my destination. Coming back home all was normal. Didn't get on it, all part throttle shifts felt fine and the AF gauge went back to normal.

Keeping my fingers crossed. But really time to get a backup trans in the garage. I can't afford downtime on my daily driver. Gonna be a 4l65E. Opinions on the options. New stock 4l65E with shift kits and servos and add better bands, since this is where I think my current has issues? Could I do this myself? Or just go ahead and bite the bullet and got Level 5 with FLP or Rock On?

Im going to bite the bullet and try to go with a LEVEL 5 from Rock-On. Mine to has just started slipping in 2-3 shifts. Figured go with Rock-On shouldn't half to worry about it as much.

Ok heres what you do,get a take out 3 mi. 4L65E for $1k,install it with a trans-go and a vette servo,if your trans is not fried and full of metal you may get by slapping in your 2600.(Now you are out $1300 parts.core&ship.)Keep your core and build it for a spare, yours doesnt sound like it has gernaded,so now is the time.I dont believe you need to upgrade anything in the late 4L65e,you could, but if you did you may never know the difference ,even if you killed it years from now.Just as one example look at big tex SS running 12.3s- trans dialed the same.

Default The video

I've driven it several miles since. No problems. Full throttle shifts just like it always has.

Still gonna get something in the works. Here is a video of the incident.

Mine's done that before, coming out of first especially. If I get over 4K RPMS (The sweet spot of the cam, of course) It'll slip. It sucks having all this power and can't use it.

Thanks for the input guys. I think something electrical is up. Definately screwy. Strange A/F behavior. Driving in to work this morning, drove fine, almost to work and it started missing badly. Threw an SES. Hopefully its a plug wire toasted on the headers like it was the last time I had something similar.

Wonder if this could have anything to do with some of the weirdness I've been seeing?
