Exclamation Ha tranny didn't last long...update.....

2 weeks of driving with the blower, slipping pretty good at wot on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift.
I have a good friend at a tranny shop and he has it today, he fiqures the shift kit and vette servo, filter and fresh fluid might save it. Only started slipping 2 days ago. Also, it was short shfting on the 2-3 shift wot at about 4000 rpm which is strange.
He gave me his 04 2500 6.0 to drive while he is servicing mine, wow what a
differnce , after driving mine with a blower, this thing is a complete slug in comparison. Nice to see the differnce

Update
This didn't go well, the clowns at the tranny shop made it way worse, I don't think they know what they are doing, gave it back to them today, he said he could put it back to stock?????
I have another good friend at the dealer, he is the service manager, I told him my story and he is going to see if he can scam a warranty tranny for me.
there is only 30k miles on the truck but the blower might be an issue.
he will tell me Monday what he can do.

Wish me lots of luck.

mine never did slip ...it would just twist the input and output shafts into...best thing you can do right now is call flt and order some of their cryo'ed shafts and drum...have your buddy install them along with all the bigger bands and good stuff that is in a 65e...at that point you will give it a chance to stay alive longer

For today I'm just going to do the kit and servo, filter and fluid, he drove it and fiqures it will be ok for awhile and there was no debris in the pan, but the fluid was burnt a little.
I'll put a plan together for some hard parts and have the stuff on installed later on.

good luck, my stock trans didnt like boost either. it was slipping bad from 2-3. when TJ and Zippy tore it apart, i was suprised to see no burnt fluid or other major signs of slipping, but now this bad boy will hold like a rock , i absolutley love my trans now! i hope you can just get by with your plan, but while its out id definitley throw some good raybestos clutches in that thing if ya can.
