Default Got Torque ? Broke The Output Shaft

Transmission is apart : looks like I broke the output shaft in two. SOB ! some other damage and lots of metal in the whole unit. Anyone using a case hardened or billet output shaft when you got the new tranny or rebuilt it? Is it worth the $600 or just use an OEM shaft ? don't want to break it again...

HELP

I wouldn't worry about your FLT Unit, I'm sure they got you covered. Just wondering if any one had this problem or went to the expense of upgrading ?

your supercharged man... I'd upgrade it for sure, I know that cent blower makes its power up top and that much Tq/hp/wt up top will definitely kill an output shaft.

Not sure if your filmiliar with my truck but I have a 4x4 CC that weighs in at almost 5400 lbs with me in it. I have a built motor with a Radix, a FLT level 5 with the 300m shafts and a 3000rpm converter. My truck runs a 7.90 in the 1/8 as does your truck only a lot heavier. Point is I haven't broke a shaft with my heavy truck. Talk to FLT!!!

I weigh 5400 and cut 1.6's 60 ft with the 65E. FLT LV / Vig is doing just fine. I did the billet output shaft, it was a no brainer. I would suggest doing the same.

Try PM'ing Randomhero about parts/prices. He's good at finding tranny parts, cheap, if you're gonna do it yourself. Those billet shafts are around.
