Default GMT900 axle in a GMT800?

I came across a good deal on a complete rear axle assembly from a 2009 Silverado 1500. I have not yet had time to measure everything to see if it will work in my 2005. Does anyone know if it will? I don't want to be cutting and welding everything, but I don't know if the leaf spring mounts and shock mounts are the same or not.

The shock brackets are different, but I believe they might work. I was told people have swapped from the 2 platforms which leads me to believe the Leaf springs would be the same width apart.

You will have to measure to be certain. Post back if you find out.

My friend has a 2013. I'm going to park the 2 trucks next to each other when I can and compare.

As I understand it, the frames are basically the same behind the cab...so it "should" work.
