Default Gear swap trying to choose a new Locker

I am swapping out the gears the first week of new year and I am trying to weight the pros and cons of each locker. I currently have a G80 truck with 25,000 miles on it. I have been thinking long term durability/ drivebility since I will most likely not be trading in when its paid off

Detroit Locker, Cons Winter driving will be sketchy from what I have read, more wear on tires, I primarily street drive, price is the most expensive. Pros indestructible for my setup.

Detroit Truetrac I have seen some posts after 30k unit is loud and starting to wear out with no rebuild available. Pros strong enough for my setup and price.

Auburn Pro LSD Cons has friction parts that wear, Pros will hold the power and rebuildable as long as side gears are not damaged. 4 year warranty

Yukon Dura grip Cons dont know enough about it and sorta sound like a lower end product. Pros cost

Anyone with experience or suggestion it would be great Mods are in sig and will be putting a 4.88 gear in. Tow a lot with the truck and like to do the occasional burn out or field donuts. Will be using a 33" all terrain tire.

Just to help.. i have 94,000 miles on my Eaton LSD and it still holding strong with no problems.. and only 2 fluid changes.
majority of that time have been with 31" all terrains, i tow alot, and played alot. with 31x13.5 boggers and the dirt drags, slicks at the drag strip and all terrains everywhere else.

Eaton LSD. Quiet, reliable, strong, affordable, and rebuildable.

I often wish I'd have gotten the Eaton LSD instead of my TruTrac. The TruTrac has never failed me, but it always tries to lock up in parking lots. I've had the Eaton LSD in a couple of other vehicles over the years, and I really liked the way they drove.

In what conditions does your trutrac behave like that Roger? Mine only locks up on sharp turns when it's wet outside. Otherwise, it's dead quiet and performs as it should.

I know the LSD vs Trutrac has been beaten to death, but I thought the consensus was that the trutrac was better for drag racing and the LSD better in offroad conditions.

All sharp turns in parking lots. What size/type of tires are you running? I think it gets worse when you have wider tires with more traction.

Or it could just be the magical Alaskan air & sticky asphalt that we have up here.

I never had any problems with 285/60/18s which are fairly wide tires. No problems with my skinny *** 245s now either

I didn't even think of the Eaton LSD, I know the Old 3rd gen F Bodies with a 7.5 the Eaton LSD would let loose and people used the Auburn pro with lots of success... With all the information out there I wish I could find more about the dura grip and auburn for an 8.6... Just not as common
