Default Gear install problem

having rearend rebuilt again, lost a pinion bearing. my gear guy is having problems w/ reassembly. he is ready for final assembly and the pinion nut is bottoming out before the pinion gets tight. gears are setup perfect but w/ the pinion seal in he is having issues. he has checked to make sure its the right seal. its the factory yoke so thats not an issue. seems to be the wrong seal. anyone ever had this problem? any ideas?

Hmmm, What are you using to tighten the pinion nut? I've had some that I've had to hammer on with a big impact to get the preload right. I really don't think the seal would affect it that much. Are you sure you have the right bearings/races? What pinion shim was used? Crush sleeve installed?

No crush sleeve installed is the first thing that comes to mind...
