Default Gbody spindles and brakes 5 lug conversion

I seen where dirt track racer 81 used gbody spindles, brakes, 02 Carlo tierod, and djm upper control arms and saved 70# and got the 5x4.75 bolt pattern I'm after on the front of his truck.
Why isn't this a popular swap? Did he run into problems with it?
He's the only one I've seen do it.

Yea i havnt heard of anyone else doing this. Seems the easiest way to go 5 lug and shave some weight.

Excuse my ignorance but what's the benefit to run a 5 lug over 6 lug?
Weight?
More wheel options?
Both?

If G-BODY parts will fit, then it would be better to use 00-02 Blazer parts. I know that a lot of G-Body folks use the Blazer spindles, hubs, and brakes as an upgrade to the original G-Body spindles and brakes.

gbody/s10 are the same thing, its not a direct swap. There's issues I ran into and corrected but I deleted majority of the information because people were taking off with it asking me for part numbers and everything I had to do so they could turn around and sell this as a kit. Not going to let others make a profit of my hard work, no offense to anyone.

Yea I seen you mention that, also seen mad man (I think) makes a kit with spindles arms etc... for 1200, seems kind of steep if one could make there own setup for about half.
I'm not after your info as far as parts and what was done, just curious if you ran into major problems such as strength or alignment issues.

Reason I'm considering it is for wait reduction and wheel options. As far as I know, there are only truck stars, weld s77, and 2 diffrent Bogarts avalible for 6 lug applications that look decent and half a"" light.

And yea there are timkin hubs that 1320wheels sell, but no weight reduction there.
