Default Front Suspension question

I have an 04 Suburban and an 03 SSS. Both are riding on the bump stops in the front. They both have brand new shocks on them, but i'm sure this is why it's not riding as smooth as it used to. How do I fix this problem?

you probably bought the wrong shocks, or if you took it to a shop they may have installed the wrong ones. it could also be that they're defective.

this happened during the last suspension setup. it was fine and worked it's way down. The SS was on stock and the 'Burban had Bilstein. That's why I was thinking it was something else.

Crank the torsion bars up alittle on the silvy.....Sounds like the springs are sagging on the burb..

The bumpstop is a working part of the suspension, and on most trucks & SUV's in stock form, they do contact the lower control arm at static height. Your concern is likely caused by something else. Perhaps your wheel/tire combo is heavier than stock?

Ya mine has always been veryyyy close to the bump stops if not touching them on the front. I always thought it was weird too.

assuming the sig pic is current, then the ss is on factory wheels. the suburban i'm not sure about.

As mentioned the bump stops are factored in to the spring rate of the front suspension and should be just touching the lower control arms at rest. What about the shocks, did you go with factory replacements or something else? Is it possible that the new shocks are stiffer than the old ones?
