Default Front dif noise

Ok guys, My front dif is making a noise similar to a u-joint going bad, however it's coming from the front dif and not the u-joints. No feed back at all thru the steering. It makes the noise no matter if it's in 4 wheel or 2 wh.
Changed the fluid a few times and some shavings nothing unusual. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

Check the driver side axle flange, you might have a worn out bearing. I have seen this happen on a 94 3500 4x4 but never on a NBS truck. It could also be the outer cv joint.

I had my carrier bearings disintegrate Atleast thats the word the Tech used when he discribed it to me lol. But thats where all the metal shavings in the fluid came from, all the gears where fine so chances are you got a bearing on its last leg.

Just so you know I can spin the tires jacked up and no noise. IT only happens when in 4wd on the lift. It has been making the noise for a few months, so I'm thinking It has to at least be a fairly thick or big part. And by the way my gas mileage hasn't changed. Thinking the engine isn't working any harder than normal.

I have a 3.73 front axle I will sell cheap it works great but does need new seal on the case Here is the link to mine it is the older one with the oil. I think all it really needs now that I think about it is a pinion seal like 15 dollars from GM I belive. nothing wrong with it just went to 4.10 and got a deal on a whole axle. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/456511/6
