Default Front axle shaft seal leak

I have a 03 SS AWD and the front axle seal is leaking on the pass. side. My question is if I remove the half shaft from the axle flange will the flange pop off the axle or out of the housing? Then I can replace the seal. Or is there another way that you have to replace the axle seals. Thanks TJ

You have to remove the half shaft and passenger axle tube. There is a clip that holds the axle in the axle tube that has to be remove to get the axle out to replace the seal

Exploded view attached. Not that hard to do. Looks a bit easier on the AWD units. My 4wd had the encoder motor to deal with. Need the new seal and some of the special GM sealer for the axle housing to center section.

(1) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft
(2) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Seal
(3) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Bearing
(4) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Housing
(5) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Retaining Ring
(6) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Bolt
(7) Front Differential Carrier Case Bolt
(8) Front Differential Carrier Case Half

Thanks alot KySliverado. So once the half shaft is out of the way I loosen the bolts on the axle tube pry it loose from the center housing and remove the c-clip and the axle and housing will come out. Thanks
