Default FLT lv 5 on the way

Had to post this to share some of my excitement. I had been toying with the idea of buying a duramax and getting rid of my truck but no one would give me anything for it...so I went back to the drawing board and started the mods again...

I always knew that when I was upgrading my trans it was going to be a FLT trans. So I just ordered up a level 5 with billet shaft and tq converter from FLT. It sure does add up once you start adding the other parts onto it but I wanted to feel like I was over building it instead of waiting for a weak link. I am sure it is money well spent.

Truck has been running with the turbo on it with the stock trans. I know I am lucky it lasted. After the new trans is in and I get a chance to feel how that is I will probably be turning up the boost a little along with some 60 lb injectors most likely. Right now just running the 42's and about 5.5 to 6 lbs of boost.

Anyway, about 4 weeks to get it so I have some time to dream and collect bottles to pay for it.

One question-- what stall should I get? Don't tow, just daily drive with probably a couple runs at the track.

Thanks for listening.
Dan

Congrats on ordering a fine piece of quality machinery, the guys at FLT rock!!

Turbo's like heavy load so a tight converter would work better for your application, the 10.5" 3-disc 2600 is the one I'd be looking at.

I would aim for it to brake stall up to about 2600. Mine will go to around 2400, but i had planned on it being around 2800. Im also a 4.8 liter for the time being.

I already have 3.42 gears in it, so there is some load already happening. I just don't want it too high for street driving.

Cool! Ya, it adds up fast w/ addt'l parts!!! But like u said, overkill rids of weak link. Forethought is the way to go.

Cheaper than Duramax due to depreciation of yours & cost to buy new Duramax too.

Trever usu. has good advice. Him sayin the PI is no different. He can't be too wrong, since he runs 11s.
So, I need to start collecting bottles for my FLT? They'll be onto the GMT1000 before cans & bottles alone will do it for me.
