That is the tailshaft bushing. It holds the driveshaft stable in the tailhousing. That is what wabbled out and tore up my tranny. Mine wabbled out due to driveshaft deflection. It probably needs to be replaced if it was damaged.

FYI-the rear seal will probably have to be replaced as well because it will probably get damaged coming out. They may have to pull the tailhousing to get it out but that is no big deal.

never installed new seal i have it out already when i noticed the bushing damage.
