Default Flip without a notch???

Has anyone been able to do a flip and not have to notch the frame? I am looking at my 2000 GMC thinking a 5" dJM flip could pull it off. Anyone???

My 4" drop rides about 2" from the frame, and about 1" from the bump stops. You will want to notch with a 5" flip kit.

Thanks for responding. I have a 2.5 shackle and the overload leaf removed now and it is 4.5" from the frame.

I'm at 5" and I didn't notch it at first but I finally got tired if touching the frame with the rear end so I notched it.

You could do the hangers bro. I have Mcg's hangers and BT shckles and she sits close to the frame. Glad i waited to refab my exhaust as the rear pipes touch the axle now. Also you will want to be thinking about how your truck will act under a hard launch. I was going to cut and reuse my factory bump stops but im now leaning toward polys incase i "bottom out" during a launch.

But i would think anylower than what i did in the rear and i would have to notch, cant bear the thought of cutting my frame though.
