Flip kit, drop hangers and traction bars
#1
I current have a 99 rcsb with a 2/4 drop. Spindles up front and hangers and shackles out back. I have a belltech flip kit, mcgaughys c-notch and VAS traction bars to still go in.
The plan is to have a total of 5/8 drop. Coilovers to be added to the front and the above added to the rear. I also plan to relocate the rear shocks.
I know alot of people run a flip kit and rear shackles to achieve the 8" rear drop. Since i DO NOT have my stock leaf hangers but i DO have new rear shackles; does anyone know of any issues i may run into with the combination of parts i plan on adding? (traction bars and flip it to drop hangers and stock shackles)
Also does a bolt in c-notch provide enough clearance for a 8" rear drop or should i look into weld in under bed notches?
Any help or information would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Two problems that I see other than ground clearance issues are: you might have to weld on new leaf spring perches, because using wedges to correct your pinion angle will be pretty sketchy; also a bolt in notch will not allow enough travel at 8"s of drop. Let me know if you need a weld in underbed notch, I have an AVS kit that I bought and didn't end up using.

Why are you set on being that low? And what tire do you plan on running?
If you are planning on putting any reasonable power that would justify needing traction bars then a bigger tire might come down the road and you will have a hell of a time fitting one being that low.

My 28" tall Hoosier didn't fit with DJM flip kit and 2" shackles. It rubbed on the lip of the bed. I'm sure it could be rolled, but with tire wrap when it hooks, I'm not convinced even the rolling would help. Like the above poster mentioned, big power is going to need a decent tire. When you get that low, say 8 inches, you're not going to squeeze anything substantial up under it. Even at 6 inches, It still worries me a bit.
