Measure driveshaft angle first then jack truck up to just get the driveshaft off. Then dropped her back down to take measurements if possible. with my 3 5 drop I can just squeeze under the truck but it was still rough maneuvering to see reading.
When you have driveshaft off feel the endplay of the pinion in the reared to make sure it isn't excessive.

ok so a re-measured this time I set the E-brake so nothing would move lifted one side at a time (set a camera to see if ant thing changed all good)
the trans is 7.2 degree's down the diff is 0.2 degrees down with the 6 degree shims
so since there suppose to be equal but opposite on paper if i pull the shims out that should put me right about 6 degree's up witch would have to about 1 degree difference but when I didnt have the shims it was worst?

6 degrees was too much and nothing probably not enough go with what Brandon6 said earlier in the thread with a 2 degree shim.

well i think I fixed the problem so I thought I'd update this
I've played with shimming the axle, taking every thing apart to make sure it was all put back correct and still had that clunk noise so I did the only thing I have not done at this point installed about 1/2 thick plate under the tail shaft of the transmission to raise it up so far no clunk and only took it in a short drive up to 65mph no shake or vibration
So I guess I'll see over the next few days.......... Hope it solved I'm tired of dealing with it
