Angry EXTENSION HOUSING BUSHING FOR A 4L80e?????

This is my third day looking for this part with no luck so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a 2001 LS1 Camaro with a 4L80e transmission out of a 2000 truck. I noticed that when it gets to 80+mph it starts to vibrate really bad. Long story short, after tearing it apart, I determined it needs a new extension housing bushing.

I have looked EVERYWHERE for a part number for that and can't seem to find one. Went to 3 parts stores and they either couldn't find it either. The transmission code is 24208421. Any information on this bushing would be greatly appreciated.

The bushing is not sold separately. You have to buy the entire tail housing which comes with the new bushing.

How did you determine that it was the bushing?

Here is a kit that includes the seal and extension-to-case o-ring: 4L80E 1991 2003 Rear Tail Housing Yolk Seal Bushing Kit Shaft Extension | eBay

Best to buy it from a dealer, last one I bought was about $60 and you need to check your yoke for excessive play also

I tore it apart and there was about 0.50 movement.

1/2" of movement? As in radial movement of the yoke inside the extension housing? If so, you got other problems.

Sorry....my bad! LOL Not .50 but "fifty one thousandths" all the way around on all sides. Pretty significant gap....and I was right, it WAS the bushing! Found the entire tail housing an hour drive away.....installed it.....problem solved!! Thanks guys

Hmm, mine has quite a bit of movement even with a new bushing a yoke. Probably not 0.050", but maybe half that? What was the play with the new bushing? How did you measure the play so I can compare?
