Default Ecsb Sus. On A Rcsb

Well, I just bought hotchkis front coils, rear springs, and shocks for a ECSB truck used. The problem is I have a RCSB. I called hotchkis to verify that it would fit and they said yes. It would just be alittle higher because of the weihgt difference. I was wondering what you guy's thought, on how it would ride. I hear this kit is great in the turns but rides very hard. I was thinking that it would ride alittle softer than the kit is designed for. Less bottoming out. I was thinking this could work out to be a good thing. What do you think?

Its just the coils springs that are rated for the weight of an extended cab. I beleive those are 2" drop coils right?? So you will prolly only get like an 1.5" out of them. Rear springs should be no difference.

As far as ride quality goes I dont know much about hotchkis other than they are a pretty high performance suspension company so I believe it will be a pretty stiff coil. So it will prolly ride fairly stiff. But when lowering a truck thats sumthing you just gotta deal with no matter what company you use.

I don't think it will ride any "softer" at all. The Hotchkis coils for your truck are a higher spring rate, with the EC's being a little higher. So as stated above you won't get a full 2". True it will bottom out less, but at the expense of your spine.

Interesting! So the 2 wheel drive Ecsb is alittle higher than the Rcsb? I wonder by how much? I think it will be very interesting to see the out come of this. I was not going to install it anytime soon but, now I am curious. I didn't want to go that low anyway.

The hotchkis kit is the same for the two trucks. They use the same coils. Only difference is that with a RCSB truck, the front will lower 2 inches. With a Ex Cab its 2.5 to 3 inches. You will be fine with what you bought.

Hum! That makes sence, same kit. Just diferent weight, witch lowers the ECSB more than RCSB. You learn something new every day.

Hey TURBO8, I think i sold you that kit. Here is a pic of how the ex cab sits with factory rims and slightly taller tires.

Yup! What up man, that does look nice on your truck. I can't wait to put in on, I think I will order the caltracs and then put them on at the same time. Or I may just have the front put on first. Cant wait!
