Default ECSB 2WD 80E guys

slip yoke showed up today and all of the stickies and threads i found are 4WD trucks or rcsb trucks.

who has a ECSB 2WD with an 80E that can tell me how much to cut off my slip yoke?

5/8'' is what everyone says. i haven't done my 80e swap yet so i can't confirm this

Depends on how long your slip yoke is that you got, what kind of output shaft is in the trans, and it just varies from truck to truck I think. I would recommend waiting to cut it until the trans is in the truck and you can test fit it.

No cutting required on mine. I used a neapco yoke and i confirmed an ideal amount of spline engagement. Knowing which output shaft you have, as mentioned is critical.

Slide it in the tranny. If it will slide in far enough to knock the soft plug out of the back there is no need to cut it at all. You should really balance the driveshaft with the yoke installed.

it slides on and you hear it click when it bottoms out. there is about 1.5" of it sticking out past the tail shaft

Dont forget that the 80e rear seal has a dust lip that sticks back from the tailshaft.
