Ok I've got an 03 SSS that I'm converting to 4l80. I've got everything done now except the final step, driveshafts. From what I've been told, which I'm not convinced so that's why I'm asking, is that the front driveshaft will still work, and the rear has to be shortened a certain amount.
Does anyone know for sure if the front driveshaft will still work in my truck, and if the rear needs to be shortened... if so then how much does it need to be shortened? I read KC's thread, but it's on a normal 4x4 truck, I know mine is a hair different...
Just give me a few ideas please.. thanks!

Measuring is the best way, but 1 11/16 is the common amount to shorten. The front will fit but wont e fully engaged into the tcase...have it lengthen the same amount if you plan on using it with a lot of power.

Okay i was just wondering if there was a standard because I don't have the tranny yet and when I go to put it in i'd like to get it all done in one wack.. but if not then i'll just have to wait till i get a tranny in then.

On MINE...I didn't have to shorten either DS.
Just had to p/u a new slip yoke.
Didn't have to trim it either.
Part # for yoke is in this thread:

Good luck!
