im in the process of building a super built 5.3 with some adders any way im looking at the 4l80e hd from monster trans thats rated for 550hp which is more than enough for me, what i need to see is has anyone use any trans from them if so how was the customer service/ warranty with them. i'm mainly looking at them because of the fact they layaway i also know pb has that option also but i know 2 people personally that when through hell and back with them when there 60e's went slapt.

Go to this site and search there name....

Pissed Consumer

Keep in mind that when ever you purchase a transmission on line you have to consider down time and shipping the unit back on your dime to get it repaired.

My friends lasted maybe 6 months, and most of that was sitting in the garage.

the 4L80E Mega Monster transmission is tough enough to withstand the rigors of even the toughest street machines delivering tire-spinning shifts race after race. It is ideal for vehicles powered by engines producing up to 550 horsepower using pump gasoline...

Hell, a STOCK GM 4L80E can take more than 325 crank HP. Even a 60E can take more than 325 crank HP. Oh, your differential and clutch bands are going to love those tire-spinning shifts too...

PS: I'd love to see their "SUPERIOR HIGH PERFORMANCE REPROGRAMMING SHIFT KIT"

Read their warranty and see what you think. Do the math afterwards.

I got an 80E built locally, it will probably hold up to around 700HP...maybe more. Cost some $$$ but $$$ usually means quality.

I haven't heard anything at all good about them, they spend more time and money advertising in car mags then building a barely decent Trans. A family member bought into there gimmick and the Trans lasted 4 days and when he went to warranty it they told him he voided the warranty by using a lil NOS and that was in a 400 hp 3600 lbs monte. If you want to GIVE your money away in the name of car/truck building then donate it to bud Hayes family
