Doing shackles this weekend - dropping the hitch

I used my floorjack...unbolted everything except the back two bolts...then took one out at a time..
Did the reverse to get it back up.... held the end up with the jack and put two back bolts in then the front two.
Only problem that I ran into....I did one side at a time... was that the second shackle didnt go in as easy as the other one did...
The only tip I can give.... get an impact gun... took me about an hour and a half... and i would bet 45 mins of that mom waisted when she called.
An unanswered question...which way do the new shackles face?
Solid side forward on a stock... so thats the way I put the new ones back in....

I put them on the ground to see if they had a curve on them just before I intalled them..
They dont have any curve to them... and from the sorry pics that came with the instructions, it didnt seem to matter. On some they were forward and on others they were towards the back.
Ive put mine to the test several times... with some intense inclines and declines and I dont think it would matter which way they would go... they dont hardly move when its on the bump stop and the other side seemed the same.

Well, I got them bolted up, and taking all of the hitch mounting bolts out except for the two in the bumper and the one farthest forward on the side that you are not working on gives you plenty of room to maneuver the hitch around. Just loosen up the bolts that you leave in.
One thing to note, make sure you have your jack stands up high enough to get the load off of your springs. It has to droop a bit more than I would have expected.
Start to finish, it probably took me 2.5 hours. Without the hitch in the way, it would have been closer to 1. With an air ratchetand no hitch, this job would practically do itself.
Took it on a test drive and noticed no funny vibes, so I guess that the pinion angle shims will not be necessary.
Thanks for the help guys.
