Default Does it matter which way a trans-cooler is mounted?

Dumb question but I'm not sure if it matters. I need to put on a tru-cool 28K.

Does the trans cooler have to be mounted with the fins running horrizontally like the factory cooler (with the connectors pointing down) or can it be mounted with the fins running vertically (with the connectors pointing to the side)?

Reason i ask is becasue my cooler is kinda long and doesnt fit if i put it in like the factory one.

Won't having fins running in 2 different directions block the airflow more? Or am I just thinking about polarizing light

It will block airflow more, but it shouldn't be enough to make a difference...
