Default differential question..

my truck is a 2005 silverado 2wd 1500 with drums in the back and im about to order a differential bearing overhaul kit,, my question is .. the rear end a 8.625 or a 8.5... im pretty sure they stopped the 8.5 in 1999 but correct me if im wrong.

I would highly recommend calling Randy’s ring and pinion to make sure you get the correct kit. I know motive gear sells kits, I’ve bought them and they were a waste of money, I only used the shims and had to overnight all the bearings, races, ring gear bolts.

It's the larger 8.625 with 30 spline axles.
