The chassi guy I will be using knows his stuff pretty d^*n good! He's built a few if my friends 8 sec nhra certified cars. Do you think if I could get the truck to weigh as close to 4000lbs or lighter it would help the "squirrelly" effect of a shorter wheel base? I only ask because there are a lot of FAST short wheelbase cars out there. The truck is going to have lots of fiberglass, front clip, doors, possibly bed, ext. if its not needed to drive it its not going to be in the truck.

But from what I understand from previous comments the crew cab bed is the same length from center of wheel well to front of box as the extended cabs. Correct? The nnbs is shorter Thanks for all the info. I usually do a search and find my answers which is why I don't post much on here

The 1500 crew cab bed is 5.5' vs 6.5', and it is the front of the bed that is shorter. (Between the cab & wheel well).
