Installed the servo this weekend. A lot more tranny fluid came out than I expected. Almost a full quart. I would definitely recommend picking up an extra quart before doing this job. Other than that, it worked out great. The transmission shifts firm and proper. Its not tire chirping firm, but it feels like it should have in the first place.

What is everyones input on doing the servo and a shift kit as well? Over kill? I have put shift kits in many transmissions and never knew about doing the servo.

Just installed mine, easy 45 minute job. 1-2 feels a little diff but not major. The one thing I did notice is that my 2-3 is not sloppy and almost pointless anymore, its not very firm but hit right to 3rd without delay now. Add a shift kit later and all will be good!!! Thanks for the write up

Used this thread and installed my vette servo last night. took 40 min start to finish. I also took a bunch of pics incase anyone needs them. Shifts are a lot more firmer for 1-2 and 2-3. Everything worked great!

Installed the servo yesterday, had to finish up today. Big help with this thread. Unfortunately, I got distracted at the end, buttoned everything up and then noticed the 4th apply piston sitting on my workbench. So I ran to the local tranny shop for a new blue o-ring and popped that sucker in this morning. Runs and shifts great.

One thing worth mentioning, on my 02 2wd, I had to remove 3 of the 4 tranny crossmember bolts so I could lower the passenger side of the tranny to remove the servo. From google it sounds like this is a feature of the '02's only? Anyway, with the trans dropped on one side like that it makes it real easy for the servo return spring to fall off of the snout, so you have to be careful with that.

Great write-up!
