Converter Installation

hey there guys i may install my 3600stall converter from Circle D tomorrow my SUV currently has headers and air intake "sig" anyways could i install the converter and not tune it.. drive it for about a week or 2 till i install the head and cam then do the tune?

i drove mine for about 2 or 3 months and my fuel milage sucked with the same mods you have. so i would say yeah for a couple weeks. once the truck was tuned it got better milage i think it was bc of my headers and no cats.

you can drive it but it will likely be unlocking all the time when cruising at certain speeds and wont be locking when it should. You really need to tune for it soon if you can.

You probably will experience 'lugging' as justin from blackbear called it. I have a much smaller stall but it would do a lock-unlock-lock-unlock sometimes. Didn't affect drivability or throw codes.

+1 on the locking and unlocking, and possible misfire codes due to less rotating mass attached to the crankshaft, especially if you bought the 9.5" converter...gas mileage may be affected also...
