Default converter and 80 swap ?'s

im looking for converter recommendations. Who has what brand and what stall speed I should shoot for. I have a 5000lb silverado ss 2wd with a 227/236 113+3 and some nitrous. In my previous 60e, I had a yank 3600ss, and didnt care for it much. It was very loose and didnt like nitrous. Im switching over to a 80e, so im looking for recommendations. I want something that will hold 200+ of nitrous and will carry my fat *** without breaking. I got a ahold of most of the converter companies and they all suggest a triple disc and are all within $150 of eachother. I havent been able to reach PATC and cant seem to find much for reviews or pricing on them. Im leaning towards FTI, he recommended a 3200-3400 converter for my application. Im open to anything other than another dang Yank paper weight! Also, with the 80 swap, (correct my list) : tyler's crossmember, new transmission lines (if someone could post the list with exact fittings I need to do AN braided lines with my 40K, that would be awesome. The old thread is jumbled a bit), dipstick tube (I re-use my 60 dipstick), converter (gonna re-use my 60 flexplate), I have the main wiring adapter (vss just gets extended? or do i have a buy a specific plug?), driveshaft gets the 80 yolk or th400 ( any one have the correct length it needs to be? Factory 2 peice shaft). Correct any of my wrong info Please! I almost forgot, converter dust cover or whatever they call that stupid cover...

I like my Circle D triple disk. I only went with them because they're local though. Would have went Yank otherwise. My old PT3600 was fine, I just didn't have the power to use it correctly. Sounds like your Yank wasn't correct for the application, not an issue with Yank itself.

it was a battle with the shop (one of their distributors) and i even called yank many times to remedy my situation. Oh well...not the end of the world tho. Iv heard about hit and miss with circle d. And their converter was the most expensive. But im open to all opinions. good to hear its working perfect for you!

Not sure if we have talked or not, but be happy to answer any questions you have... Sounds like our 258mm will be a nice fit, and we suggest multi for long term durability. With a heavy truck we have seen some wear on the single disks.
