Default Changing 2-4 band & reverse input clutch

Has anyone here changed the 2-4 band & reverse input clutch in their 4l60e? I'm going to remove the transmission to replace the TC and servos and want to know how hard it is to replace the band and clutch. Are there any special tools involved? I have a little slippage into 2nd at high RPM's.

Its not hard. You have to pull the pump, servos, valve body, band anchor in the case, remove the band then the reverse drum. Empty the drum and reinstall in the new and reverse order. Sometimes the hardest part is getting the reverse clutches lined up on the splines on the input drum. Also the pump can be a pain as well getting back in.

I don't know how to do it, but I recommend the normal width carbonite band. It has been the only one that has held up for me.

Awesome, guys. I figured it would be fairly simple, being at the front of the tranny. I'll get the carbon band for sure. Thanks for the advice.
