New PI? Reason why I ask is my PI took a crap in my 4L60E(FLT Stage 4) last Thanksgiving. I was told by PI that the metal made for the turbine was not completely "heat synced" and it fell off in little pieces in my trans... nice.

Lisa I think that maybe your vacuum line on the outside of the trans being off had something to do with it. Basically causing high line pressure which might have been why your PI failed as soon as it did.


Zeake I think the solenoid that was unplugged was the 1-2 solenoid. Also referred to as the "A" solenoid. This solenoid is used for 1st and 4th gear. With that being said that is why your vehicle was starting out in second gear. Good to hear you got it sorted out. Vince

Thanks Vince. I am glad to hear that PIs are not prone to premature failure.
It sure freaked me out. Everything is good. I just got back from driving nearly 500 miles in the TBSS. A stop at summit racing will hopefully get my truck running tomorrow.

zeake glade you figured it out, i will have to remember this if my truck ever has the same simptoms after droping the pan and filter.
