There are occasions that I hate the fact that my old tranny would automatically shift up to the next gear even though I have it manually set on the column. There are times it wouldnt even down shift when I manually select one gear lower. The only gear it wouldnt come out of when selected is 2nd gear

I can take off in thrid if i want to....not that i want to but you can.

as far as auto shifting in first gear it wont happen at least in my truck it wont(see sig) last couple of days i have been experimenting with the tranny cause i am trading for a 5.3 truck soon so i dont care what it does to it as long as it lasts ME... I can take off in 1st and go to redline + - 5700 rpms and it will bounce off the revlimiter until i shift it to second and will do the same thing at the top of second i kind of like hearing the revlimiter .. i didnt know it had one
