Default Caltracs + Hellwig 7800...

I am wanting to upgrade my rear suspension more and am curious if these two will work together - or against one another.

My truck is a 100% street truck on 18" street radials. I had some wheel hop with less power. And don't like how sloppy the truck felt with my 18' open car trailer hooked to it with a 3500-4000 lb car loaded on it.

Currently, all I have changed is: 2" lowering shackles and Bilstein 5100s. Both helped, but still not where I want it.

Basically I am trying to accomplish getting rid of the wheel hop from a dead stop or slow roll. And for the back end to not feel so loose with a load or when the road has any kind of curves. I am realistic and realize that it's not a Corvette, but I am sure that it can be better than it currently is.

Thanks in advance.

Traction bars and a rear sway bar can be used in conjunction and work well together for straight line traction. Together they will make the rear very stiff which may not be ideal for a daily street truck. I recommend trying the rear sway bar first so see how you like it. I believe it will be more beneficial reading your description above. It may even reduce or eliminate the wheel hop as it will provide some resistance to axle rotation.

Looks like I will be ordering one this week. I will see what it does and go from there. Thank you for the reply and insight.

I have read about it not clearing rear axle girdle covers and large exhaust systems. I hope that it will clear my 3.5" tailpipe.

Ended up with a belltech rear bar, showed up today. I might get it installed this weekend.
