help me choose between probuilt automatics or trutech transmission. building a 4l60e with all good parts. probably parts in the 1,000.00 range. what are your experience with those two companies and who to talk to.

Pro built automatics. Dana is the guy running it. I have been using him for all my high power 700r4 / 4l60e builds with great success for 6 years. He has great knowledge in setting up the hydraulics to shift nice under normal driving and quick wot shifts. Leave him a message, he will get back to ya. He tailors the set up to what you need, not a random put together works for everyone kit.

I realize this is a bit late but I'm thinking of the next guy.
I've only worked on one 4L60e but I've put some time into it. I'm in the middle of rebuilding it a second time. Long story short, I ignored the 1870 slip code and after six years of high pressures my pump rotor blew.
Dana helped me out back in 2010. It took awhile to get the parts in from him but the kit he put together continues to impress me. I forgot all the upgrades he put in it. I also ordered some parts from him this time around... took a few days over a month to get to me. I think he orders the parts, and when they get to him, he then ships them out from his location. It's old school. I remember as a kid 6-8 week delivery times were the norm. I got my undies in a bunch and I think I hurt his feelings.
Jeff Shelton from Trutech is great too, though he's less into extreme performance and more for the every guy. Reliable. Shipping is much quicker.
They both know what they're doing in my opinion. They do things differently and have a different end goal in mind. Jeff wants to get your family rig back on the road, Dana wants it to handle low 1/4 mile times
