caltrac install problem

Yes thats what I did and I can get the link in there with plenty of room for adjustments but it puts the ubolts a a steep angle towards the back of the truck. the guy at Calvert said just drill a 5/8 hole right in the center of the plate. but im almost positive if I drill that hole it MAY fit but will have no room to adjust.
