No such thing. "Bulletproof" and "4L60E" do not belong in the same sentence.

The closest thing I've heard is that FLP will build you one of their Level 5 4L65E transmissions and guarantee them for a period of time, but you would still have to deal with removal, shipping, and replacement in the event of failure.

The only person I know of who has purchased one of these has had to return their tranny twice already. That should tell you something about the actual viability of a 'bulletproof 4L60E.'

That "car" doesn't weigh in at 2 and half tons though. Might be 7XXHP but less resistance to fight at only a ton and a half. Not impossible to make these 60's take hell of an *** kickin', just gotta "weigh" the differences in prices and labor for getting a kick *** 60e or 80e and modification to add it in.

Would you all say that the 4L60e can be built to reliably hold 350 rwhp w/o torque management. I plan on doing a few bolt ons later on down the road, but have to budget for when my slushbox will likely grenade.

You are correct, but it does weigh 3800 lbs. I don't belieive it would have any trouble holding up to the kind of power the 4.8 will make unless he adds a serious power adder.

yes, just make sure you put the builder through the "ringer". Make sure you have nothing but good things and they have alot of experience with the 60e specifically. Bolts on will be fine...it's when you start throwing FI at it...or n2o for that matter.
