like many others have told you the only remedy for the 60e is the 80 e and that rear is going to give you as many troubles as that 60e,

If you don't wanna swap trannies, and you want your 60e to handle 500+ HP, it needs to come out of the truck, no shift kit or servo kit will hold up to this kinda power alone for too long.

For starters your probably gonna wanna go with a vaccuum modulated setup if your gonna run boost to control your shift pressure. I would put a new 2-4 drum and wide band in, the new drum because you need a new one with a wide band reguardless. At the very least opt for a high energy band, stay away from kevlar tho, as it may be tough as hell, but it just overheats and warps the drum and you back at square one. I have taken two trannies out just this week which smoked the 2/4 band off. Its usually the 2-4 band or 3-4 clutch thats the weekest link in these trannies that i've seen and heard. Go with hi-energy 3/4 clutch plates with full thickness kolene steels so they don't warp and overheat. Get the sleeve and heavy duty pistons for the input drum and heavy duty sunshell upgrade, usually called the 'beast'. Throw in a high element input sprag. Upgrade to higher volume pump, put a good shift kit with boost valve in. Go with corvette or higher servos if you want, but with this setup they're probably unecessary and would just make things violent during part throttle shifts. Slap in the stall while you are there, and just maybe it'll last.

Or just call up FLT, cause they pretty much do what i just said and some more, but for a bigger price. You can buy kits off 700r4l60e.com for trannies in good shape for around 500 bucks, rebuilds for 700 I just built mine to handle some more power, when i called up the guys at probuilt, they assured me their kits are proven and they have hundreds of them working sucessfully in 9sec cars and behind vehicles actually up in the 800hp range, yet their claim is only good up to 675hp with a 10" or smaller converter. I will find out iguess.

Yea and as said before dump the g80 before it dumps you and go for the Truetrac, they are sweet!

build it hell for stout and then 1 day the damn torque converter lining comes apart and takes out the pump and tranny....thats usually about how it goes...build a bad *** tranny and change out the torque converter about every 6 months for good insurance....

don't mean to beat a dead horse and/or bring up an old dead thread but I figured I might as well use this one..

anywho... would my 60E and rear end (G80 I'm not even sure) hold up if I only plan to put down like 300-350whp?

The 60E and G80 are widely hit and miss. Sometimes they hold up to power and other times they take a dive behind a stock motor...

also the oem 3.73's and g80 are holding strong but im thinking my g80 is about to explode.

Im running 11's with a stock 4L60e with a shift kit and stall converter and its not slipping yet. For how long, who knows. I probably have around 15 passes with the spray on this truck, and 70+ passes on motor.
