built 4l60e vs 80e

I am in need of a tranny and have been doing some reserch i have been thinking about a performabuilt lvl2 60e with there billet convertor with a 2 year warranty and i spoke with someone there they are fully aware how heavy my truck is and he said he was perfectly fine with the 60e they build running down the track and still giving me a full 2 year unlimited mile warranty, I have read so many people saying that even if you build the 60e they are still junk and to go with the 80e, i am just curious if the peformabuilt is just that stought or should i just go with an 80e
thanks!
thanks!

About 90% of the people who chime in will tell you to do the 80E swap,my 60E is being rebuilt to a level 3 and a 3600 stall. I would love to do the swap but money and time just isn't allowing me to do it right now.

^^ exactly. The point is the 60 is just a weak link regardless. Many people have gotten away with 60e, and a lot have gotten burned. I got burnt on 4 "built" 60es before moving on, and hurt two stockers 60w.

Why is everybody saying that a 80e cost so much to swap? I paid 600 for mine out of a junkyard with converter and dipstick. Then 100 for driveshaft mods then it was really easy to mod the crossmember for the swap... Rode na and boosted for a while like that then eventually got a hd2 shift kit and a circle d verter.... Do the 80e and forget your troubles! Ha ha

I'm sure I'd have gone through a built 60e in that time and would have broke some hard parts. How do I know this? Because it happened with my last 60e.
I'm having the 80e rebuilt properly now and will have a ton of confidence afterwards. The 80e is a phenomenal transmission. Go with it.
