Budget brake upgrade for 2000 Silverado. (05+ front, SUV rear)

I have an 04 ss with these "big fancy brakes" and they actually are one of the least desirable parts of the truck. Does anyone know why these trucks don't have a firm brake pedal? We hop in my wife's acura and I nearly throw us through the windshield because I am used to spongebob squishy brakes. I bled my 99 with a vacuum bleeder and they both are way softer than i would want. Is it the abs system? Feels like the pedal is spring loaded when the abs activates in the winter.

I have not, the ss should have never been touched from the factory but my 99 has been changed however has not been bled with a scan tool. Suppose I will just google for the procedure.

You need a scan tool with the bi directional capabilities like a tech2. Not sure what aftermarket tools have that ability. It's called automated bleed procedure.

BTW, I did the 14" Baer eradispeed plus 2 rotors on my last truck, and didnt touch the pads or calipers and It was one of the best brake upgrades I've ever done. I could have done w/o the 14" rears(keeping in mind using a stock size spare tire/wheel) to save some money... I think you can get matching rear rotors in the smaller size.
