Default Broke a sensor on the side of the tranny... What is it??

So Im swapping a 96 4l80e into my 98 and on the drivers side of the tranny there are two types of sensors plugged into it that have a clip on the end for a wire. In my 98 there was only one sensor with a clip on it (the one towards the front of teh car drivers side) and the one further back had no clip. I broke the one further back and the one in the 96 further back. What sensors are these??

The picture below is the 96, the sensor I broke out is on the top right if you are looking at the pic. On my 98 it has the same bracket but the sensor is flat and doesnt have a plug on it....

The front one is ISS (input shaft sensor), and the rear is VSS (vehicle speed sensor). I believe you broke the plug for the VSS as on a 4wd the sensor is located in the transfer case (if I am understanding you correctly).
