Default Broke rear end today. Need advice quick

I finished my burnout and broke the rear on the launch. Rpms went to 6000 and speedo hit 100mph but truck didn't move. Track guy said it probably only broke the spider gears or yoke ( i dont know about rear ends) since it didn't move. Will the stock g-80 survive something like this or should I just order an eaton lsd? What does it normally run and where is the best place to buy? Thanks

Cheapest I've seen them is on E-bay. $349-379 + about 25 shipping.

I hate to say this, but you need to start setting aside as much money as you can. Sometimes when these things pop it locks up the ring gear and breaks the sprag in the trans. If that happened you won't have any first or second in Drive or 3, but it will give you a very weak first in manual first and the same for second. It's enough to move the truck but there's no torque handling because the overrun clutches do all the work with no sprag.

Auburn is no good.

Choose the Eaton over it for sure.

Might also want to look at the true track.
